HOUSEEUROPE!
Exhibition
Location: Berlin, Ernst-Reuter-Platz
Team: Part of the project course „Renovate dont Speculate“
Year: 2025
The exhibition took place at Ernst-Reuter-Platz in collaboration with the European Citizens’ Initiative House Europe (Power to Renovation). It focused on raising awareness of the ongoing demolition of existing buildings and the underuse of available structures, highlighting the impact and consequences of current construction practices. Key themes addressed included the loss of cultural heritage, rising CO₂ emissions caused by demolition and new construction, real estate speculation, increasing rents, and the loss of living space, as well as the need for more socially responsible and resource-efficient building practices. The exhibition aimed to create a space that makes these issues visible and accessible, fostering public understanding and engagement with the complexities of the built environment. It also introduced potential approaches and strategies developed by House Europe, alongside selected examples.
